Who we are
MarketGraphs ("we", "us", "our") is a cross-asset macro research platform operated by Aleksei Fedotenkov, based in London, United Kingdom. We operate the website market-graphs.com and its newsletter at market-graphs.com/brief. MarketGraphs is the data controller for personal data collected through these pages.
For questions about this policy or your data, contact hello@market-graphs.com.
What data we collect
When you sign up to the MarketGraphs newsletter:
- Email address (required) — to send the weekly brief, the lead magnet, and occasional product updates.
- UTM tags (auto-collected from the URL or referring site, e.g.
utm_source=instagram) — to understand which channels drive interest.
We may later ask, in the welcome email sequence, an optional single-question segmentation prompt (e.g. self-directed investor / adviser / curious). Answering is optional and editable.
We do not use cookies, tracking pixels, third-party analytics scripts, or fingerprinting on /brief. The page uses browser localStorage only to remember UTM tags within a session.
Why we collect it
We use your data for:
- Sending the weekly research brief and occasional product updates to subscribers.
- Aggregate, anonymised statistics about audience composition (e.g. signup source, segment splits) to inform editorial and product decisions.
- Compliance with UK financial-promotion regulations (we operate outside the s.21 perimeter under FPO Art 17 + 20 / PERG 8.30 — retaining acquisition source helps demonstrate this posture).
Our legal bases for processing under UK GDPR are:
- Consent (Article 6(1)(a)) — for sending the newsletter and product updates. You may withdraw consent at any time by clicking unsubscribe in any email.
- Legitimate interest (Article 6(1)(f)) — for aggregate audience analytics and operating the subscriber list.
Where your data is stored
Subscriber data is stored by Beehiiv (Beehiiv Inc., New York, USA), our newsletter processor. Submission requests are routed via Netlify (Netlify, Inc., San Francisco, USA), our hosting provider. Both providers are certified under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework.
We do not share, sell, or transfer your personal data to any other third parties.
How long we keep it
We retain your email address for as long as you remain subscribed. Unsubscribing removes you from active sends; we may retain a hashed unsubscribe token for up to 12 months to honour suppression-list obligations under UK PECR.
How we protect your data
All data is transmitted over HTTPS (TLS encryption). Beehiiv and Netlify operate SOC 2 Type II certified infrastructure. Access to subscriber data is restricted to authorised personnel (founder only, currently). We do not store passwords or payment information.
Your rights
Under UK GDPR and EU GDPR, you have the right to:
- Access your personal data.
- Correct inaccurate data.
- Delete your data ("right to be forgotten").
- Withdraw consent at any time.
- Object to processing based on legitimate interest.
- Data portability — receive your data in a structured format.
- Lodge a complaint with the ICO ( ico.org.uk) or your local supervisory authority.
To exercise any of these rights, email hello@market-graphs.com. We respond within 30 days.
California residents (CCPA)
If you are a California resident, you have the right to know what personal information we collect, request its deletion, and opt out of its sale. We do not sell personal information. To make a request, email hello@market-graphs.com.
Children
MarketGraphs is not directed at individuals under 18. We do not knowingly collect data from minors. If you believe a minor has submitted data, contact us and we will delete it promptly.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be communicated via email to active subscribers. The "last updated" date at the top reflects the most recent revision.
